Official inflation down to 0.33% in February

Brazil's inflation was 0.33% in February, as officially measured by the Broad National Consumer Price Index (IPCA). Last month's rate is down from both the previous month (0.38%) and February 2016 (0.90%), the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) in Rio reported today (10). It is also the lowest for the month of February since 2000's 0.13%.
The cumulative year-to-date inflation stands at 0.71%. The cumulative 12-month rate, 4.76%, is close to the 4.5% target set by the federal government.
