Brazil's gross domestic product (GDP) showed a 0.49% growth in the three-month period ending in May compared to the period ending in February. However, compared to the three months ending in May 2016, the GDP failed to experience any significant change.

The figures were released today (Jul 18) in Rio de Janeiro by the Getúlio Vargas Foundation (FGV). Considering May only, a 0.9% decline was reported against April, and an increase of 0.7% from May last year.
