Brazil's state-controlled oil giant Petrobras has started selling assets in Paraguay. The goal is to fully divest itself of the market share in the firms Petrobras Paraguay Distribución Limited, Petrobras Paraguay Operaciones y Logística SRL, and Petrobras Paraguay Gas SRL.
Petrobras is active in the Paraguay's market of fuels, liquefied petroleum gas, and lubricants, with a network of 197 service stations and 113 convenience stores. The company also provides oil by-products for aviation, with operations in three airports, and also to major consumers, and is the biggest fuel distributor in Paraguay. It has its own terminal for distribution of oil by-products in the city of Villa Elisa.
The fact was made public in compliance with the company's divestment system, appreciated and approved by its board of directors, and in line with the regulations set forth by Brazil's federal accounting authorities.
