Brazil’s total production of natural gas reached a record-breaking 115 million cubic meters a day (m³/d) in June. The previous record had been 11.8 million m³/d, from December last year.

Figures were released Monday (Sep 4) by the National Agency for Oil, Natural Gas and Biofulels (ANP). The level is 3.5% larger than the one observed in the previous month, and 7.3% higher than July 2016.

Oil output down 1.9%

The production of oil totaled 2.62 million  barrels per day, a reduction of 1.9% from June. Despite the low, the production saw a 1.5% increase compared to July last year.

Taking into account the production of natural gas and oil combined, the national output stood at 3.346 million barrels of oil equivalent per day.

July’s pre-salt production totaled 1.61 million of barrels of oil equivalent per day—down 4.3% from June.
