Brazilian state-controlled oil giant Petrobras reported that the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit granted the company's request to suspend the case filed in New York by investors claiming to have incurred losses following the wave of corruption unearthed by police crackdown Operation Car Wash. The statement was made Monday (Nov. 6).

The oil firm announced to the market that the decision was issued last Friday (3).

“The class action is to remain suspended until the US Supreme Court decides on whether it will deliberate on the appeal filed by Petrobras,” the note reads.

According to Petrobras, the motion with the US Supreme Court was placed on November 1. The firm also says it will “keep adopting the necessary measures to defend its interests.”
