Petrobras unveiled a new phase in the sales of four refineries, announced in August. In this stage, classified as binding, prospective buyers will receive an invitation letter as well as information about the units being sold.

Four refineries are up for grabs, with a capacity of processing 879 thousand barrels of oil a day (37 percent of the country’s total refinery capacity): Abreu e Lima, in Pernambuco; Landulpho Alves, in Bahia; Presidente Getúlio Vargas, in Paraná; and Alberto Pasqualini, in Rio Grande do Sul.

According to Petrobras, the transactions are in compliance with the guidelines for divestment in the company and with the special regime for divestment of assets by government-controlled federal firms, as laid forth in decree 9.188/2017

The divestment project aims to optimize the company’s portfolio and allocation of capital.
