Sports Minister Aldo Rebelo has confirmed that President Dilma Rousseff will attend the opening match of the FIFA World Cup, Brazil vs Croatia, which takes place in São Paulo next Thursday (12).

“The president, of course, will be at the opener, along with other heads of state,” the minister said, anticipating that Rousseff might also join country leaders at other matches played by their countries' national teams.

The Head of the Social Communications Secretariat of the Presidency, Thomas Traumann, announced that Rousseff will also attend the final match at Maracanã Stadium in Rio on July 13.
