The Civil Police reported that they had identified seven suspects for the murder of an Italian tourist yesterday (Dec. 8) when he mistakenly entered the Morro dos Prazeres favela in Santa Teresa. The victim, identified as Roberto Bardella, 52, was on a motorcycle with an Italian friend who was driving another motorcycle.

According to the Police, the Homicide Division of the capital identified these suspects and requested their arrest to justice. The suspects were identified with a photo book of criminals acting in the area. The photos were shown to Bardella's friend, who recognized them. According to the note, they will not release more information at the moment in order not to harm investigations.

The day at the community of Morro dos Prazeres dawned with police officers from the Shock Battalion and the Dog Action Battalion patrolling the area.
