The Consulate of the United States in Rio de Janeiro announced on Tuesday (Aug 5) that there is still no predicted date for a solution to the visa processing problem, which began about ten days ago, when the State Department started to update its system. The glitch has affected consular posts all across the world.

According to their press office, the glitch only affects visa issuance processes. For this reason, the consulate has no longer guaranteed that the documents will be delivered in ten business days. The State Department also declared that the delays have been lasting for an average of one week after the end of the usual deadline set for the delivery.
