Vietnam delegation in Brazil to boost partnership

The country ranks 33rd on the list of Brazil’s trade partners

President Michel Temer is meeting Monday (Jul. 2) with Vietnam’s Deputy Prime Minister  Vuong Dinh Hue at the Planalto presidential palace. On the agenda are commercial exchange and investment between the two countries, technical cooperation and defense, in addition to partnerships in agribusiness.

The Vietnamese entourage will also hold meetings with Foreign Minister Aloysio Nunes Ferreira and Agriculture Minister Blairo Maggi, with whom the Vietnamese are to discuss cooperation initiatives in agribusiness.

According to official figures, Vietnam ranks 33rd on the list of Brazil’s trade partners. Among the goods most exported by Brazil are bran, and soybean oil residues, corn, cotton, steel, leather, and furs.

Brazil’s imports from Vietnam chiefly include electronic and micro-parts, batteries, components for broadcasting and relaying devices, and shoewear.
