Acting President Michel Temer was met with protests at the National Congress building where he was expected to submit a bill changing the fiscal target. Followed by cabinet members such as Finance Minister Henrique Meirelles, Temer was intercepted by demonstrators linked to the PT with shouts of “coup-monger.”
Planning Minister Romero Jucá also attended Temer's meeting with Senate head Renan Calheiros and had to push through the throng of demonstrators calling for his arrest after a newspaper released a recording on the weekend in which he is heard suggesting to stop Operation Car Wash.
The meeting with Temer, ministers, and congressmen was held behind closed doors at the Office of the President of the Senate.
