President Michel Temer described Brazilian meat as “the best in the world.” His team, he says, has showed satisfactory results in preventing other countries from deciding to ban the purchase of the product following reports from the Weak Flesh probe into the irregular sanitary inspection of meat.

“Brazilian meat is not weak. Brazilian meat is the best in the world,” said Temer during the ceremony marking the delivery of 1.3 thousand housing units under the Minha Casa, Minha Vida affordable housing program at the Solidariedade Residential Park, in São José do Rio Preto, São Paulo.

The situation is being reversed, he said, thanks to the work of Foreign and Agriculture Ministers Aloysio Nunes Ferreira and Blairo Maggi. “He [Aloysio Nunes] got Operation Weak Flesh knowing our meat is strong, and worked alongside Blairo Maggi to prevent possible restrictions on the purchase of Brazilian meat, one of our great markets, sold to 150 countries,” the president declared.

“We've done an extraordinary work to mitigate the tension, which has eased off already. South Korea, for instance, once again has authorized the purchase of Brazilian meat,” he added.
