President Michel Temer was released from hospital early in the afternoon today (Oct. 30) after undergoing an urologic surgery in São Paulo. Temer was told to rest at home until Wednesday (Nov. 1).

On Sunday (29), Temer underwent a medical procedure to remove a vesical probe (a urinary catheter). Urologist Miguel Srougi, in charge of the operation, explained that the emergency intervention was made necessary by the obstruction in the patient's urethra.

“He had urinary retention, with a probe in his bladder, which made him very uncomfortable, and this probe had to be removed,” the doctor explained.

The probe was inserted after a surgery performed Friday (27) due to an enlarged prostate. Seven years ago, the president had a similar procedure carried out.
