“[It’s] a terrible agreement as it is being negotiated now. [It] was negotiated 20 years ago. […] It’s not what we want,” the French president said. “Let’s put [it] aside and build a new, more responsible agreement, taking into account issues such as climate and reciprocity,” he added.
On Tuesday, the French president awarded the National Order of the Legion of Honor to the indigenous leader of the Kayapó ethnic group, Chief Raoni Metuktire. It is the highest honor granted by France to its citizens and to foreigners who stand out for their activities worldwide.
Agents will examine the circumstances of the former president’s stay at the Hungarian embassy in Brasília Feb. 12–14, a few days after the outbreak of operation Tempus Veritatis, which looks into an alleged criminal organization involved in an attempted coup d’état in Brazil.
