Deforestation in Brazil up 22% last year

From 2019 to 2022, when the survey was in progress, 303 thousand deforestation events were reported across 6.6 mi hectares. Agriculture and cattle raising were the top drivers, with 95.7% of the total, or 1.96 mi hectares.
