The substance was found in the fruit and flower of the Trema micrantha Blume. The discovery raises the possibility of legal use for medicinal purposes.
So far, 14 goods have been authorized. These are products, not medicines, the agency reported, as the latter would require clinical trials to prove effectiveness.
