Brazil’s National Public Broadcasting Network, coordinated by EBC, will now include stations from 11 state and municipal universities, bringing the total to 117 TV and 155 radio stations.
After former president Hélio Doyle stepped down, Jean Lima, EBC’s general director at the time, took over as acting president. The appointment was made Friday.

The radio broadcast is the oldest still on air in the Southern Hemisphere according to the Guinness Book of Records, and is still a major source of government information in the remotest parts of Brazil.
