“I am convinced that Eletrobras is prepared to pursue its role as a protagonist in the electric sector,” said Eletrobras President Rodrigo Limp Nascimento.
According to a statement from the company, the total amount to be raised should reach BRL 29,294,027,952.00.
The operation does not represent the purchase of the shares, as the actual sales will only take place after the auction of the state-run utility is held.
Eletrobras has been recording annual net profits since 2018. In the first quarter of 2022 the company registered a net income of BRL 2.7 billion ($ 544 million dollars).
Net revenue grew by 12%, influenced by the readjustment of bilateral contracts and transmission revenues, and increase in fixed rates at Angra I and II nuclear plants.
