The Ministry of Women on Tuesday has unveiled the Action Plan of the National Pact for the Prevention of Femicides. The efforts are part of the celebrations for women’s month of March in the promotion of gender equality.
Less than a quarter of the countries are making rapid progress towards gender equality, and one in three countries is making no progress or is moving in the wrong direction.
On Thursday (Jul. 12), forward Marta from Brazil’s football squad was named the new UN Women ambassador, a post with which she will be able to fight for gender equality in the sports world and other arenas.
The embassies of Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Denmark launched the project Nordic Dialogues on Friday (Apr. 20) in Brasília, aimed at promoting debate and the exchange of experiences in a bid to raise awareness about gender equality among Brazilians.
