The Industry Confidence Index, gauged by the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV), saw a 1.5 point increase from December 2019 to January this year. The figure brings the indicator to 100.9 points, the highest since March 2018 (101.4 points).
Brazilian businessmen from the industry sector regained optimism about the possibility of growth in the next few months, overcoming the distrust expressed last August.
The confidence of industrial investors showed an increase in July, according to a survey published Friday (Jul. 15) by the National Confederation of Industry (CNI). The confidence index in the sector stood at a 47.3 score this month—up 1.6 from June.
