The Brazilian government decided to ban the entry of high-ranking officials from Venezuela in the country. The move was announced Tuesday (Aug 6) after the end of the Lima Group meeting in the Peruvian capital, attended by Brazilian Chancellor Ernesto Araújo.
Brazilian Chancellor Ernesto Araújo said that the Lima Group is not planning on loosening up on the “pressure for democracy in Venezuela.” He noted Nicolás Maduro is still in power thanks to support from abroad.
In an address delivered today (Feb 25) at a Lima Group meeting in Colombia, Brazil’s vice-President Hamilton Mourão ruled out the possibility of an intervention in Venezuela.
