The president is setting of for Asunción on Monday, where he should attend the inauguration ceremony of the neighboring country’s new president, Santiago Peña, to be held Tuesday.
Presidents Lula and Alberto Fernández should meet at the Planalto presidential palace in Brasília next Monday. The two have met four times since January.
After tests in Brasília, the president’s meetings with ministers were also called off. The state visit will be his first to Asia and his third trip overseas after taking office.

In a statement in Buenos Aires after meeting with Argentinian President Alberto Fernandez, Lula said that this will be done "with much debate and many meetings".
