As they gear up for the floor vote that will decide if the impeachment proceedings against President Dilma Rousseff will proceed to the Senate, members of the opposition in the Chamber of Deputies who support impeachment have set up a wager on the voting results. For about $30, bets can be placed on the number of votes each side of the impeachment divide will cast on Sunday (Apr. 13). Only accurate predictions on the exact vote counts will win the jackpot.

“If there are no winners, the money will be donated to charity,” said Deputy Carlos Manato, one of the pool organizers. The opposition needs at least 342 votes to ensure impeachment proceedings move ahead to Senate. Only opposition deputies have placed bets so far.
