The total production of oil and natural gas in Brazil in November last year was 2.9 million barrels of oil equivalent per day. This total includes 2.35 million barrels of oil and 91.7 million cubic meters of natural gas, the National Agency for Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) released Tuesday (Jan 6).

The figures reflect a 1.5% decline in oil production compared to October 2014, and a 13.3% increase compared to November 2013, whereas natural gas production was down 1.1% and up 16% respectively. According to ANP, the decline from October was largely due to platform shutdowns for scheduled maintenance in November.

The ANP also reported that production at the 42 pre-salt wells was 602,300 barrels of oil per day and 20.9 million cubic meters of natural gas, or 733,600 barrels of oil equivalent per day, down 0.8% from October.
