Tornado strikes southern Brazil, killing six
Last Friday (7), six people were killed and thirty-two remain hospitalized in Paraná, southern Brazil, after a tornado swept through the state, according to a bulletin from the State Health Department released late Sunday morning (9).

Winds exceeding 250 kilometers per hour devastated Rio Bonito do Iguaçu, a city of 14,000 inhabitants, and caused damage in eleven other municipalities in the south-central region of the state.
The Fire Department reported that there are no missing persons and that search operations have been concluded. The teams are now focusing on restoring essential services such as water and electricity supply, as well as distributing food and drinking water.
On Saturday (8), the Ministry of Health sent a team from the National Force of the public health system to Rio Bonito do Iguaçu. President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva took to social media to express his solidarity with those affected.
