Agência Brasil and Azertac, an Azerbaijani news agency, will soon be able to enter a cooperation agreement aimed at the exchange of news, photos, video clips, and critical material produced in English.
This was the main topic discussed during the visit paid by Elkhan Polukhov—Azerbaijani Ambassador to Brazil—to the director-general’s office of the Brazil Communication Company (EBC), Christiane Samarco. Also attending the meeting were EBC Director for Journalism Lourival Macedo, and Agência Brasil Manager Alberto Coura.
“I’m really glad with the prospective signing of this deal, as this cooperation will make it possible for the Brazilian people to get to know our culture, and for our country, in turn, to start receiving important information about Brazil, its culture, and its economy,” said Ambassador Elkhan Polukhov.
Among the events relevant to both nations this year that could be held within the scope of this partnership, Polukhov mentioned the 100th anniversary of Azerbaijan’s independence, the 25th anniversary of bilateral ties, and the 2nd World Capoeira Champion, slated to take place from May 11 to 12, in Baky, capital city of Azerbaijan.
As is the case in many other places across the world, capoeira has become one of the most acclaimed martial arts in Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijan is a country with a high human development rate, according to UN data. It is located between East Europe and Southeast Asia.
