Brazil’s Foreign Ministry has signed a new deal with the Portuguese government for a third extraordinary commercial flight to repatriate Brazilian nationals stranded in the European country. The trip will take place on March 15, from Lisbon to São Paulo’s International Airport of Guarulhos.

According to the ministry, 519 Brazilians were repatriated from Portugal in flights on February 26 and March 10. Just as the previous trips, next week’s operation is private. Those interested must directly contact TAP, the carrier conducting the flight, on the scheduling or the reuse of already purchased plane tickets.

“Bearing in mind the state of emergency and the restrictions in effect in Portugal, only passengers with tickets confirmed by TAP will be allowed to enter the [Lisbon] airport,” the ministry stated.

Brazil’s Embassy in Lisbon and the consulates-general in Porto and Faro will be allowed to provide assistance to Brazilians wishing to return, the ministry added.
