Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva will no longer travel to Chile, where he was to attend the inauguration ceremony of the country’s new president, José Antonio Kast, elected in December last year to replace Gabriel Boric.

In a statement, the Planalto presidential palace did not offer any justification for the cancellation of the trip, which had been confirmed last week, and said that the Brazilian government would be represented by Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira.
