Brazil to see up to 127 days of extreme heat per year by 2075
Climate projections from i4sea indicate that Brazil will experience up to 127 days of extreme heat per year by 2075, up from the current six days.

To arrive at this result, i4sea applied more than 26 global climate models to Brazilian territory – including the MPI-ESM1-2-HR model from the Max Planck Institute for Meteorology – and hyperlocalized the results for a time horizon extending to 2075.
i4sea is a climate intelligence platform that assists companies with assets and operations affected by climate change in making strategic and operational decisions.
According to the study, Brazil’s average maximum temperature will rise by 1.7 °C, with warming reaching up to 7 °C in some regions.
The regional breakdown of the survey indicates that the Brazilian North will be the most exposed by 2075, with an average increase of 2.8 °C in maximum temperature and a projected 193 days of extreme heat per year.
Rondônia, far north in the Brazilian Amazon, tops the state rankings, with a projected increase of 3.95 °C. “At the same time, the study indicates a trend of up to 13 annual heat waves in the country, which changes the way sectors such as energy, infrastructure, health, and logistics need to approach operational continuity,” says i4sea.
In the same region, Acre and Roraima trail closely behind Rondônia, with projected increases of 3.36 °C and 3.16 °C, respectively. In Roraima, the projection indicates up to 250 days of extreme heat per year by 2075 – meaning about two-thirds of the year under these conditions.
The company’s CEO, Mateus Lima, states that the platform’s role is to provide decision-makers with a climate scenario as clear as any other strategic planning indicator, such as revenue, exchange rates, or labor costs.
“What the data show is that heat will cease to be a seasonal event and become a permanent variable in business planning. Those who incorporate this now gain time to adapt infrastructure and processes and protect the people who make the operation happen,” he stated.
