Supreme Court (STF) Justice Teori Zavascki refused this Thursday (Oct. 20) a preliminary injunction issued by the defense of former President Dilma Rousseff to cancel the final decision on the impeachment, approved by the Senate in August. On the appeal, Rousseff's defense claimed that there were no legal grounds for her ouster and that there was a denial of a fair opportunity to be heard.

In the sentence, Justice Zavascki said that the senators' decision has not posed any "risk to the republican institutions, the democratic rule of law or the constitutional order" to justify the intervention of the Supreme Court.
