In his first exclusive interview to Empresa Brasil de Comunicação (EBC) news outlets since he took office as president, Michel Temer celebrated the settling of the accounts of state-controlled companies, like Petrobras and Banco do Brasil.

For these two firms, Temer noted, the positive impact on the companies’ decisions were quick to be seen. Temer went on to mention one of the key measures adopted by the government, namely the move to oust politicians from technical positions in government-run companies.

The president welcomed the team of EBC reporters at the Alvorada presidential palace. The interview will be available in its entirety at the websites of Agência Brasil and the other EBC news outlets.
