In a joint statement, the presidents of the Chamber, Arthur Lira, and of the Senate, Rodrigo Pacheco, announced that the convergent part of the Proposal for a Constitutional Amendment (PEC) of the Precatório should be enacted this Wednesday (8). According to Lira, technical teams have been working since yesterday to raise all the points of consensus in the text and carry out the enactment.

Last Thursday (2), Lira announced the slicing of the PEC into two parts - one with the points of consensus between the two Houses and the other with the changes made by the Senate, which should be considered again by the Chamber.

The parts changed during the Senate vote , last Wednesday (1), returned to the Chamber and will have to be analyzed again. According to Arthur Lira, these points will be attached to another proposal for a constitutional amendment (PEC) on the subject and will be considered on Tuesday (14). Thus, the president of the Chamber hopes to have a period of one week to negotiate with leaders and obtain the necessary quorum for voting on a PEC.

According to Lira, next week the Chamber should work from Monday to Friday to vote on this PEC and the 2022 Budget. “The Chamber of Deputies and the Senate will work together to close this important PEC, in order to give predictability to the precatory, the budget and the public debt”, he said.

According to the president of the Senate, Rodrigo Pacheco, there is a unanimous sense of urgency for the implementation of Auxílio Brasil. “We are all very concerned and busy with sustaining the social program,” he said.

According to Pacheco, the points agreed by both houses must add up to more than R$ 60 billion and will guarantee payment of the aid. Among them are the new rules for the spending ceiling and for the payment of court orders.
