After two days hospitalized at São Paulo’s Vila Nova Star Hospital due to an intestinal obstruction, President Jair Bolsonaro wrote on Twitter he was discharged on Wednesday (Jan. 5). “Discharged just now. Thank you, everyone. ‘I can do all this through Him who gives me strength,’” he celebrated.

No information has been released regarding the president’s return to Brasília, or what his engagements will be after his discharge. Yesterday (4), the doctors removed the nasogastric tube the president was using during treatment and the need for a new surgery was ruled out as the drugs were enough to resolve the obstruction.

In the early hours of Monday (3), Bolsonaro, who had been spending vacation in Santa Catarina state, was taken to São Paulo under suspicion of a new intestinal obstruction.
