Another 1,367 Brazilians die from COVID-19 in 24 hours

A total of 41,008 new cases of the disease were reported in the period

The daily report released by the Health Ministry Tuesday (Jul. 21) shows that another 1,367 deaths from COVID-19 as well as 41,008 new cases of the disease have been reported in 24 hours. The new figures bring the total death toll from the beginning of the pandemic to 81,487.

The case tally went up to 2,159,654. Ranking atop the list are the states of São Paulo, Ceará, and Rio de Janeiro.

The figures released by the Health Ministry also show that 1,465,970 people have recovered from COVID-19 in the country—67.9 percent. There are also 612,197 patients in observation.

The lethality rate (number of deaths divided by the total number of cases) stood at 3.8 percent. The mortality (fatal cases for every 100 thousand people) was 38.8. The incidence of COVID-19 cases for every 100 thousand people is 1,027.7.
