Brazil reports 35 thousand new cases of COVID-19

The country has had over 5.9 million cases

In 24 hours, Brazil reported 35,294 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 685 deaths. Since the beginning of the pandemic, the country has counted 5,911,798 confirmed cases of the disease and 166,699 deaths. The number of people recovered from the disease stands at 5,361,592.

According to the epidemiological report, released Tuesday evening (Nov. 17), there are 383,467 cases being monitored. The incidence rate of the illness for every 100 thousand people is 2,813.2, and its lethality is 2.8 percent.

The country’s Southeast has the highest case tally and death toll, with 2,066,435 and 75,791, respectively. Next come the Northeast, the North, and the Central-West. The state with the largest amount of cases and deaths is São Paulo, with 1,178,075 cases, and 40,748 deaths.
