Brazil reports 3,472 deaths, 79,719 cases of COVID-19 in 24h
Brazil has reached 380 thousand deaths as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. According to the daily update by the Health Ministry, published Wednesday (21), 381,478 people have been killed by the disease since the pandemic started. In 24 hours, 3,472 deaths were confirmed.
The figures bring the number of positive diagnoses since the first one was announced, in February 2020, up to 14,122,795. In 24 hours, 79,718 new cases were registered.
The amount of people recovered stands at 12,646,132. There are also 1,095,188 active cases being monitored by health teams, along with 3,642 fatalities under investigation.
States
The ranking of Brazilian states with the highest death tolls for COVID-19 is headed by São Paulo (90,627), Rio de Janeiro (42,110), Minas Gerais (30,994), Rio Grande do Sul (23,690), and Paraná (20,809).
Those with the least fatalities are Acre (1,449), Roraima (1,466), Amapá (1,488), Tocantins (2,414), and Sergipe and Alagoas, with 4,034 each.
