Brazil reports 358.4k deaths, 13.59 mi cases of COVID-19

Recovered patients have surpassed 12 million

The number of people who succumbed to COVID-19 in Brazil has risen to 358,425. In 24 hours, another 3,808 deaths were registered. There are also 3,694 fatalities under investigation by health teams.

The data can be found in the daily report on the pandemic, released Tuesday evening (Apr. 13) by Brazil’s Ministry of Health. The update combines figures sent through by state health authorities.

The country’s total case count has reached 13,599,994. From Monday to Tuesday, 82,186 new positive diagnoses were confirmed.

Patients recovered thus far number 12,074,798, whereas those with an active case, being monitored by health teams, add up to 1,166,771.

States

São Paulo is the Brazilian state with the highest death toll for COVID-19—84,380. Next come Rio de Janeiro (39,791), Minas Gerais (28,152), Rio Grande do Sul (22,388), and Paraná (19,531).

Those with the lowest amount of fatalities are Acre (1,367), Roraima (1,408), Amapá (1,419), Tocantins (2,289), and Sergipe (3,822).

Vaccination

Up until last evening, 47.8 million vaccine doses had been distributed countrywide.

Of those, 27.8 million have been administered—21.3 million as the first dose, 6.4 million as the second.
