Rio suspends flu vaccination due to lack of doses

The municipality of Rio de Janeiro today (30) suspended the flu vaccination, due to the lack of immunization in some health units. The Municipal Health Department said that new doses should arrive in the state tonight and, with that, it hopes to resume immunization against the disease tomorrow (1st) in the afternoon.

In recent days, the city of Rio has registered an outbreak of influenza A (H3N2 ), with several cases recorded. Therefore, the city decided to call the entire population to be vaccinated against the disease.

Priority has been given to children aged six months or more, pregnant women, postpartum women, the elderly and health professionals, but everyone can be vaccinated against the flu.
