Brazilian bicycle manufacturers produced 773,641 units in 2018, up 15.9 percent from 2017’s 667,363, according to figures released in São Paulo today (Jan. 14) by Brazilian association of manufacturers of bicycles and similar vehicles Abraciclo.
The Brazilian economy is likely to grow 2.1 percent next year. This is the forecast made for the country’s gross domestic product made public Wednesday (Nov. 21) by the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).
Brazil’s population, estimated to total 208.6 million in 2018, is expected to remain on the rise until it reaches 233.2 million in 2047.
Brazil’s gross domestic product (GDP) is up 0.4% in the first quarter of 2018 from the last quarter of 2017, as per figures released Wednesday morning (May 30) by the Brazilian Geography and Statistics Institute (IBGE).
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) raised the growth estimated for Brazil to 2.3% in 2018, and to 2.5% in 2019. The forecasts are part of the World Economic Outlook, published today (Apr. 17), and represent 0.4 percentage points above those published in January.
