The Brazilian government inaugurated an office in Jerusalem to bolster its partnership with Israel in innovation, technology, and investment.
Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro decided to return from his trip to Israel early and will arrive in Brazil two hours before the original plan. He is expected to land in Brasília at around 6:40 pm Wednesday (Apr. 3).
In a statement made Thursday (Mar. 28), President Jair Bolsonaro said that Brazil may open a business office in Jerusalem. The Brazilian embassy in Israel is located in Tel Aviv and there have been plans to move it to Jerusalem.
During a meeting with Brazilian acting President Hamilton Mourão, Palestinian Ambassador to Brazil Ibrahim Mohamed Khalil Alzeben asked today (Jan. 28) for Brazil to keep his embassy to Israel in Tel Aviv rather than relocating it to Jerusalem.
Federal Deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro, son of Brazil’s President-Elect Jair Bolsonaro, said the future administration plans to relocate the Brazilian embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
