Former Brazilian President Michel Temer was arrested this morning (Mar. 21) in São Paulo. The information has been confirmed by the Federal Police. Temer is being taken to the Guarulhos Airport, where is to take off to Rio de Janeiro.
Federal Judge Gabriela Hardt sentenced former President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva to 12 years and 11 months in jail as the outcome of a case centered on renovation works carried out on a ranch in Atibaia, São Paulo state. The sentenced was issued Wednesday (Feb. 6).
Eletrobras announced that the deadline for appeals against the deal forged between the company and investors, in the US, is over, “with no appeals having been filed.”
Federal prosecutors have filed charges against former President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva for money laundering. The allegations also target executive Rodolgo Giannetti Geo, who runs the ARG business group, accused of influence peddling.
