The Workers’ Party (PT), the Communist Party of Brazil (PCdoB), and the Green Party (PV) are to run for the elections under federation "Brazil of Hope."
Federations were created in a bid to minimize the issues caused by the soaring number of political parties across the country, which has 32 parties on a wide spectrum.
The Brazilian lower house—the Chamber of Deputies—will start off next year with the highest number of political parties since the country’s redemocratization. The next president of Brazil will have to negotiate with 30 parties altogether.
