Speaking at the 30th Pan American Sanitary Conference on Monday, Heath Minister Marcelo Queiroga advocated the promotion of sensitive epidemiological surveillance.
The idea is to educate Brazilians on transmission, contagion, symptoms, and prevention, in addition to providing guidance on what to do in suspected cases of monkeypox.
The campaign, launched this Sunday (Aug. 7), has the purpose to combat poliomyelitis and other diseases, and recover the vaccination coverage of children and adolescents.
During the opening of a workshop on health surveillance, Queiroga said Brazil provided laboratories for diagnosis and identification of cases and isolation of patients.
