The Federal Police (PF) launched this Friday morning (June 19) the 14th stage of Operation Car Wash, a crackdown on a wide corruption scheme with tentacles in the government, state-owned corporations, and contractors. Police agents served 38 search and seizure, nine bench arrest, eight pre-charge remand, and four temporary custody warrants in four states.

The investigations at this stage are focused on two major contractors operating in domestic and international markets. They are suspected of collusion, bid rigging, corruption, embezzlement of public funds, and money laundering, among other charges.

About 220 men from the Federal Police were marshaled for the operation. The prisoners will be taken to a Federal Police unit in Curitiba, Paraná, where the cases arising from Operation Car Wash are heard.
