President-Elect Jair Bolsonaro announced his decision on Twitter

Brazil’s President-Elect Jair Bolsonaro announced the appointment of Ambassador Ernesto Fraga Araújo as minister of Foreign Relations in his upcoming government. A diplomat for 29 years, Araújo is director at the Department for the US, Canada, and Inter-American Matters in Brazil’s Foreign Ministry.

Bolsonaro unveiled his decision on his Twitter account. “Brazil’s foreign policy must be part of the regeneration moment Brazil is going through today,” he wrote, referring to Araújo as “a brilliant intellectual.”
