Brazil: Champion at Robotics World Cup in USA

Brazil secured both first and second place in the 9 to 16 age group and also earned seven additional technical awards across all categories at the Robotics World Cup, which concluded on Saturday (Apr. 20) in Houston, United States.

The Robotics World Cup, organized by the NGO For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology (FIRST), convenes annually, uniting 15,000 students aged 6 to 19 from 50 countries. This year marked Brazil's largest delegation since its inaugural participation in 2000, boasting 144 students from public and private schools spanning ten states.

The eight members of Los Atômicos, hailing from Araras, in the state of São Paulo, clinched first place in the 9 to 16 age category. "Without a doubt, this was a unique experience and an unforgettable feeling. We can only express our gratitude to all the people who supported us. It's incredibly rewarding to be here and to emerge as the World Festival champions," exclaimed Ana Clara Simionatto, the team's spokesperson.

Another Brazilian team, Pardoboots, representing Santa Cruz do Rio Pardo, also in São Paulo state, not only secured second place in the same discipline but also earned the Coach/Mentor Award, attributed to Monica Marques.

"The award signifies the exceptional performance of the team across all categories, making it the most important recognition of the competition. We're very happy," remarked Otavio Andrade, representing Pardoboots.
