The Brazilian Air Force (FAB) has declared its alertness to evacuate Brazilians residing in conflict zones within the Middle East. This announcement came via an official statement released early Sunday afternoon (Apr. 14), shortly following Iran's drone and missile attacks on Israel.

In its statement, the Air Force asserted its state of being “prepared and ready” to promptly respond to any rescue request, awaiting the command from competent authorities. Emphasizing its state of readiness, the text underscores the FAB's commitment, with both “its crews and aircraft, to be deployed wherever Brazil's assistance is required.”

The Brazilian Air Force further emphasized that its continuous state of readiness enables it to intervene at a moment's notice. The statement underscores that this preparedness encompasses “not only specific missions, but any need in support of society."

Since the beginning of the war between Israel and the extremist group Hamas in October of last year, the FAB's Operation Returning in Peace has conducted 13 flights, bringing approximately 1,500 people to Brazil, including Brazilian citizens and their close relatives. Out of the total number of flights, three repatriated individuals living in the Gaza Strip.
