Brazil’s Rayssa Leal wins skateboarding street worlds

Her victory also counts as points for the Paris Games

Brazilian Rayssa Leal this Sunday (Feb. 5) won the title of the Skateboarding Street World Championships, held in Sharjah, UAE. The 15-year-old girl scored 255.58 in the great decision, where fellow Brazilian Gabriela Mazetto and Pâmela Rosa finished sixth and eighth, respectively.

The podium in the women’s race was completed by second-place Chloe Covell, from Australia, and Momiji Nishiya, from Japan. The achievement earned the Brazilian 80 thousand points in the ranking for the 2024 Olympic Games, in Paris.

In the men’s race, the best placed Brazilian was Kelvin Hoefler. The Olympic medalist ended the competition in fourth, behind Frenchman Aurelian Giraud, first place, Portuguese Gustavo Ribeiro, second, and Japanese Ginwoo Onodera, third.
