The federal government has collected $35.7 billion in taxes in February, an unprecedented record for the month. This figure reflects a real growth (adjusted for inflation) of 3.44%.
For the January/February 2014 period, the government collected an equally record-breaking $88.9 billion in federal taxes, a real growth of 1.91% over the same period last year.
As he announced the results, Deputy IRS Secretary Luiz Fernando Teixeira Nunes said they were as expected, and maintained the growth forecast for this year, which should range between 3% and 3.5%.
