Dollar reaches highest rate in six years: over R$2.45
In September alone, the US currency accumulated an increase of 9.68%

After a turbulent session, the dollar closed out Monday (Sep 29) at R$2.456, up 1.64%—the highest rate since December 9 2008, when it stood at R$ 2.471. In September alone, the US currency accumulated an increase of 9.68%. In the year, however, the rise has thus far added up to 4.17%.
The São Paulo Stock Exchange (Bovespa) has also been through an agitated day. Its index closed at 54,625 points, down 4.52%—the lowest score since July and the most dramatic plunge since September 2011. The shares from Petrobras, the most sought-after in the stock market, were the only to face a reduction of 10.65%.
